The Fine Art course is designed to encourage a broad and creative contemporary approach which allows students to develop a solid but rewarding grounding in Fine Art. The focus is predominantly 2 dimensional which features painting, collage, photography, printmaking and mixed media. The individual creative developments which appear at GCSE form the basis for A-Level study. The portfolio developed during the course is used to produce key evidence for Foundation and Degree level course applications. Life drawing and frequent cultural visits to local, national and international collections is a key feature of this thriving and extremely successful department. Content: Areas of study are intended to encourage exploration within either traditional or contemporary forms where students provide a variety of creative responses through a wide range of materials, processes and techniques.
