DOUBLE AWARD AS Units 1, 2 and 3 Single Award course, plus: Unit 4 (F913) Health and safety in care settings: Providing a safe and secure environment is important in any care setting. This Unit looks at the importance in maintaining safety and security, cross infection and safe moving and handling techniques. Unit 6 (F915) Working in early years care and education: This unit looks at early years provision within the local area and explores the different ways children learn. Unit 7 (F916): Health as a lifestyle choice: This Unit studies the nutritional value of foods, dietary guidelines to promote health and wellbeing, positive effects of exercise and inter-relates the effects of diet and exercise to health. Double Award A2: Units 1, 2, 3, 10, 12 and 16 from Single Award Course, units 4, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 16 as above, plus: Unit 13 (F922) Child development: A thorough awareness of child development is essential for anyone interested in the care and education of young children. This Unit looks at children’s progress and development up to the age of eight. Unit 14 (F923) Mental-health issues: This Unit is an investigation into the needs and care of a patient with a mental illness. Unit 15 (F924) Social trends: One of the main differences between life today and in the past is the much greater diversity of relationships we are likely to experience. This Unit looks at the changes in our society over the last fifty years and the consequences of this.
