You will build on the knowledge and skills developed during the National Certificate, but you will be expected to produce work that is on a theme that you have developed yourself. You will learn to work with greater independence, developing increasingly creative work. During the first year you will complete 3 Units over 3 assignments or projects. Unit 1: Visual Recording in Art and Design Unit 2: Materials, Techniques and Processes in Art and Design as well as a Specialist Unit, which is normally Unit 75: Observational Drawing. During the second year you will complete a further 3 Units over 3 assignments or projects. Unit 3: Ideas and Concepts in Art and Design Unit 4: Communication through Art and Design Specialist Unit, which will be a unit of your personal choice. New course specifications not yet available.
