The Extended Project is an enrichment course in addition to students’ other curriculum choices. The aims of the course are to enable students: • To develop significant research and project management skills. • To be able to synthesise the findings of their research in a concise and cogent way • To monitor their progress effectively against the targets they set themselves • To present their findings to a non-specialist audience Students have a choice of either completing a 5000 word research based report or creating an artefact and submitting a 1000 word report. Students have a free choice of their subject although it is recommended that they choose a subject either linked to their other curriculum subjects or to their future University or career plans.
