You will develop an understanding of the formal elements of art and design and how to use them to respond to the theme given. • Component Two: Externally Set Assignment: You are given 10 hours under exam conditions to produce an outcome based on a theme set by the exam board with an advanced preparatory period of working time. A Level • Component One: Personal Investigation - To research, analyse and evaluate links between the work of past and contemporary artists and your own emerging studio practice. To identify a theme and explore, develop and record your ideas towards a minimum of two outcomes. You will also be required to produce a written study of a minimum of 1000 words on an artist(s) who particularly inspire your own art practice. The personal study will count for 12% of the overall A level qualification. • Component Two: Externally Set Assignment - You are given 15 hours under exam conditions to produce an outcome based on a theme set by the exam board with an advanced preparatory period of working time.
