CG Award in Employability

UPDATED 20161024 08:02:38

This course will prepare the learner when applying for employment after the course. This course requires full-time attendance at college, (between 3 and 4 days per week). You may receive a bursary, to support you while at college. This is calculated in relation to the household income, where you live. You will be working towards a recognised qualification and have the opportunity to upgrade your English, Maths and ICT. Your training during your course will give you practical experience in the workplace, where you will be able to see policies, procedures put into practice through your work experience. The employer will generally require you to present yourself in a professional manner, both in dress code and in the way you act and present yourself to colleagues and customers. Your assessor will support you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the practices and principles of your vocational subject. The course will last one academic year. The assessments may take the form of online tests, written assignments, collecting evidence from your work, witness testimonies, observations and professional discussions. Whereas for others it will involve a synoptic practical and theory assessment. These assessments are graded and will show the level in which you have achieved the course.. The units for your qualification are mandatory and there is little room for negotiating personalisation of units, because these are recognised industry standards, required by employers. Progression from this course on to higher level qualifications is available, following successful completion. Employability is taught along your vocational subject.
