Study and understand in greater depth aspects of the culture, heritage and contemporary society of France or a French-speaking country; Use French to analyse, hypothesise, evaluate, persuade and justify in both speech and writing; Transfer meaning from English into French, and vice versa. Advanced Subsidiary Topics: a) Leisure and Lifestyles; b) The Individual and Society. Advanced Topics: c) Environmental Issues; d) Social and Political Issues. You will study a wide range of literature: magazine articles, short stories, newspaper and Internet articles and develop your understanding of these written texts. You will also develop your spoken French through preparing presentations, and conversing with the French assistant and your fellow students and tutor.
