GCE A Level in Psychology Course Overview In Year 12, students will be introduced to a range of psychological topics including memory, attachment, social influence, biopsychology and psychopathology. In addition to this they will develop knowledge and understanding of psychological research and the different approaches in psychology. In Year 13, students have the opportunity to study subjects such as relationships and aggression. In addition to this they will be able to discuss various issues and debates in psychology. The research methods topic continues in the second year of the course. Assessment Psychology is 100% examination. There are two exams for an AS Psychology qualification and three exams for an A-Level qualification. The exam papers consist of multiple choice, short answer and essay style questions. Combines with Psychology complements the skills acquired in many subjects including English Literature, History and Mathematics. Future Pathways Future career destinations include working in forensic psychology, educational psychology, occupational psychology, sport psychology, research and lecturing.
