Taking an objective look at society without personal or moral preferences. This course will show you how to remove the bias from what is seen out there in the media. From 2016 there are changes to Sociology. The topics of Education and Crime and Deviance are currently very popular choices among students. In the new specifications these are both now compulsory for the A Level, with Education compulsory for the AS. Like the previous specifications, Sociology at AS and A Level will continue to be assessed purely by examination at the end of the course, with no coursework. The first year of the A Level covers the same ground as the AS. So if a student thrives and enjoys the AS course, they can switch to the A Level. Students will undertake a wide range of activities in order to cover the content. This can be in the form of group activities, teacher led note taking debates and “micro teach” sessions.
