This course introduces you to some of the exciting areas of biology in the contemporary world and creates an awareness of the ethical, technological and economic aspects of the subject. It aims to develop an interest and enthusiasm for biology, including an interest in further study and careers in biology; encourage candidates to appreciate how society makes decisions about scientific issues, and how science contributes to the success of the economy and society. There will also be opportunity to develop a deeper appreciation of the skills, knowledge and understanding of ‘How Science Works’.
