GCE A Level in Spanish Course Overview  Traditional and modern values.  Cyberspace.  Gender equality.  Influence of idols.  Regional identity in Spain.  Cultural heritage.  Study of a novel and a film. As well as this content, heavy focus on grammar and accuracy features in every lesson alongside traditional skills. Students are expected to be able to manipulate and use language to suit their own purposes. There is a heavy emphasis on oral skills in the target language. Student are expected to communicate as much as possible in Spanish throughout the lesson. Lessons are conducted in Spanish where appropriate. As well as attending lessons, students are expected to keep up to date with topical issues in Spanish speaking countries. Assessment  Unit 1: Listening reading and writing paper.  Unit 2: Oral exam. Combines with Travel and Tourism, English, Humanities, Law. Future Pathways Further study at University level. Languages degrees are diverse and can be combined with other disciplines such as law, humanities based subjects. A language degree is versatile enough to be applied to any area of work.
