Introduction to Animal Nursing and Welfare

This one year course combines a level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Animal Management with an introduction to animal nursing at level 2. The combined programme encourages students to embrace the science of the body with maintaining health and he prevention and treatment of disease. Modules study Science Nutrition Breeding Husbandry Introduction to Animal Nursing Infection control Prevention and treatment of disease A small portfolio of work related skills forms part of the assessment of this course, along with examinations, tests, assignments, presentations and practical assessments. Students must also undertake a compulsory work placement in a veterinary practice, and must secure the placement through and application and interview process.
