Dance is a physical expression of images, ideas and feeling that are personally, socially, culturally, politically or historically significant. Dance encourages choreographers and performers to discover, explore and develop their natural instinct for movement as well as their psychological and emotional personality. A level Dance is a demanding course that will push students to challenge their perceptions of dance, explore technique and performance, understand and critically appreciate the work of professional artists and help students embed the foundations of the type of choreographer they will become. In order to be successful at A level Dance students will need to be proficient in skills such as communication, resilience, creativity, organisation and reflection. Students will benefit from being involved in Dance outside of school to thoroughly develop their fitness, strength, technique and performance skill.
