Geography

UPDATED 20150928 12:27:25

The themes of the syllabus are the challenges facing the planet in terms of economic, environmental and social stresses in this century. Sustainability underpins the whole two year course. Successful students will have a keen interest in contemporary global issues such as global warming, ecosystem destruction, development issues and resource pressures. Significantly, the course introduces completely new discrete topic areas at LPGS (e.g. Climate Change, Weather Hazards, World Superpowers, Biodiversity, Cultural Diversity, Health and Food Supply) whilst placing a new ‘spin’ on previously studied topics (e.g. Water Conflicts, Rebranding Urban Areas, Regenerating Rural Areas, Energy Security).
