UPDATED 20150928 12:13:57

Course Content - You will develop your skills in the following areas: (1) Performing - You are expected to perform for no longer than 6 minutes on a mixture of instruments/voice and as a soloist, in a group or both. You can rerecord your performance if it all goes wrong (but you have to do all 6 minutes in one continuous take). (2) Composing - You will write one composition based on a choice of four briefs set by the exam board. This composition has to be completed under supervision but can be in any style that you like. It will be completed on Sibelius. You also need to write an accompanying commentary explaining what you have done in your composition. (3) Introduction to Historical Studies- Just like GCSE, you will study a selection of around 10 set works across a variety of styles. These will then be examined through a mixture of listening questions and essay questions. In this written paper, you will also complete a harmony exercise.
