Course Content - Theme 1 (microeconomics) Introduction to the nature of economics, markets and market failure. Theme 2 (macroeconomics) Introduction to the UK economy, focusing on economic performance and macroeconomic policies. Theme 3 (microeconomics) focuses on business economics and explores behaviour and the labour market. Theme 4 (macroeconomics) considers a global perspective, including poverty and inequality, emerging economies and the financial sector.
