At AS, students develop a knowledge and understanding of the legal system and an ability to evaluate its operation and performance. The specification introduces substantive Law and requires simple application of aspects of criminal Law and contract Law: • Unit 1: Law making and the legal system • Unit 2: The concept of liability. At A2, students further develop knowledge of the legal system and of criminal law. Evaluation of the concepts of law continues to be developed at this level of study: • Unit 3: Criminal law - Offences against the person • Unit 4: Tort law - Negligence
