This course explicitly engages with the relationship between human populations over space and time and the relationship they have with their physical environment on a variety of scales, from the local to the global. The AS course aims to introduce you to the importance and practicalities of fieldwork, and includes a 3-day visit to Cranedale Field Study Centre near Malton, North Yorkshire. You will also cover topics such as river, flood and management and population change. At A2 you will build upon your knowledge of fieldwork and investigative skills, as well as exploring the topics of plate tectonics and world cities.
