The BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) is a 12 Unit course equivalent to 2 A Levels. This qualification allows you to specialise in performance and will develop your skills in a wide variety of dance and dance-related units such as the compulsory units on Performance Workshops, Performing to an Audience and Dance Performance. You will also have the chance to study optional units such as Choreographing Dance, Jazz Dance, Developing Contemporary Dance technique, Urban Dance and Rehearsing for Performance The course is designed to be adaptable to your needs, interests and career aspirations: it consists of four Compulsory Core units and eight Optional units which will help to develop your dance skills and your knowledge of the dance industry The course provides a vocational alternative to the traditional A Level Dance. We recommend that you choose this option if you are significantly better at coursework than examinations.
