The course is the equivalent of 1 A level and will be studied over two years. Through a series of practical assignments you will learn all about the recording studio and how to record, mix and master. You will learn how to sound engineer live gigs as well as put on your own music event. All units are largely practical but each has an element of research and written work, which must be completed to attain the unit grade. In year 1 you will take the Level 3 Certificate in Music Performance comprising of 3 units of study: Music Production Techniques Delivering a Music Product Live Sound Techniques. On successful completion of the Certificate, you can progress to the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in year two, gaining a full A Level equivalent (60 units in total). The three study units of the Subsidiary Diploma are: Sequencing Systems and Techniques Special Subject Investigation Major Music Project.
