Anatomy: This is a scientific module which involves the study of muscles, bones and joints in relation to sporting movements. The study of forces and balance, the study of the circulatory system, vascular system and respiratory system all in relation to sports. The health benefits of participating in physical activity. Skill Acquisition: This is a psychologically based module involving the psychological theories regarding how people learn sports skills and what strategies a coach can use to maximise learning. Motivational strategies to encourage lifelong involvement in physical activity. Contemporary Studies: This is a sociological module and involves learning about PE and sport in school, concepts of sport in society such as leisure and outdoor education and sporting issues such as the role of the media in sport and Governing Bodies.
