We offer a combined foundation AS course in Year 12 which includes 2D and 3D work in painting, drawing, mixed media and print making and leads to the AS qualification. In Year 13 you may specialise in one of the above areas or more. This leads to the A2 qualification. You undertake an in depth study of: painting, drawing, print making, mixed media and sculpture. You are encouraged to analyse made and natural forms and structures in order to develop use of visual imagery and powers of personal expression. Development of critical facilities is central to the course, and visits are made to galleries and exhibitions to broaden your knowledge of contemporary Art, Craft and Design as well as that from the past and from other cultures. You keep a sketch book/journal throughout the course. Year 12: 1 unit of practical coursework plus 1 externally set assignment. Year 13: 1 unit of practical coursework and contextual study and 1 externally set assignment.
