Unit 1: Investigating People at work In this unit, you will learn about how and why people work in business, and what influences them at work. This unit gives you the knowledge and skills you will draw on when you are studying the other core units. Unit 2: Investigating Business Students will investigate the setting up of a small business, which provides a service to the local community. Unit 3: Investigating Marketing Students are expected to produce an appropriate marketing mix for a new or existing product or service. Unit 8: Business Development This unit is the synoptic unit in this award. It will look at how a small business can be established in response to the need for change. Unit 10: Marketing Decisions This unit will provide you with the basis for effective decision making and planning in the marketing process. You will learn about the type of decisions that have to be made to bring a product to market. Unit 14: External Influences on Business This unit gives you the opportunity to consider some of the external influences that affect a business or industry. You will analyse how a business or industry has reacted to these influences in the actions that it has taken and the changes it has made to its practices and activities.
