Product Design encourages students to take a broad view of aspects of design and technology, to develop their capacity to design and manufacture products and to appreciate the complex relations between design, materials, manufacture and marketing. Students are taught to be aware of the responsibility designers and technologists have to mankind through an understanding of the potentials and hazards inherent in technological advance, change and decision making. Product Design requires students to engage in both practical and theoretical study. This specification requires students to cover design and technology skills and knowledge.
