This is a relaxed and friendly course to introduce you to the sewing skills needed for simple soft furnishing around the home. You may choose to start a project or make up a collection of stitched examples of some of the different methods covered during the course. The course will include: advice on what to include in a sewing kit how to make a simple envelope cushion cover machine and hand sewing advice on blinds and curtains techniques such as mitred corners; piping; buttons and button holes; gathering, tassels, cords and other decorative finishes information on relevant websites, books and both local and national events
