In Year 12: Students focus on how laws are made, the roles and responsibilities of people who work in the court and legal funding. You will also begin to look at criminal and civil liability, including the offences of common assault, ABH and GBH. In Year 12 you will study the following units: •Dispute Solving in the Legal System; •Understanding Law-making; •Aspects of Legal Liability. In Year 13:Students focus on the more serious criminal offences in our legal system, such as, murder, manslaughter, criminal damage and burglary. You will also look at the different powers that the police have when they complete stop and searches or detain you in a police cell. In our final unit we will concentrate on family law, looking at marriage, divorce and laws relating to children. In Year 13 you will study the following units: •Unlawful Homicide and Police Powers; •Aspects of Property Offences and Police Powers; •Family law.
