A Level Drama - Drama and Theatre Studies is a course designed to look at all aspects of performing plays. It is an extension of GCSE with further in-depth study of texts and performance. It is a course that offers lots of practical opportunity, similar to the GCSE course. All of the component units offer the opportunity for practical activity, even those that end with a written examination. Why study Drama at A Level? Drama offers the opportunity to study the world of theatre from the perspective of the actor. It is a gateway into acting, but should also be seen as a useful support to many other careers such as Law, journalism and working in TV and radio. Having an A level in Drama can appeal to universities as it shows a student has confidence, people skills and presentation skills. These qualities are required in any profession and are the reason why Drama is a good support to any career option.
