AS Level French - The French and German AS and A-level qualifications will appeal to those of you looking to broaden your existing knowledge of languages, to develop and inspire your curiosity about the countries where the language is spoken and to help you on your journey to further studies and the world of work. The content for the new modern foreign language A Levels for first teaching in 2016 is currently under consultation and we are in the process of reviewing the draft specifications. Language learning is a cumulative process and therefore many aspects of the course will build on what you have already learnt at GCSE, whilst introducing you to new skills and themes. The following information will provide some understanding of the content of the new qualifications if we decide to continue with the AQA specification. AS is now decoupled from A level – the two new qualifications are completely separate although the AS and the first year of the A-Level can be taught together.
