The BTEC Level 3 course in ICT offers an engaging program for those who are clear about the area of employment they wish to enter. The course leads to the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma qualification equivalent to A Level. The course is designed to develop: o the capacity to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically; o the skills to work collaboratively; o the ability to apply skills, knowledge and understanding of IT in a range of contexts to solve problems; o an understanding of the consequences of using ICT on individuals, organisations and society and of social, legal, ethical and other considerations on the use of IT; o an awareness of emerging technologies and an appreciation of the potential impact these may have on individuals, organisations and society. The 60-credit BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma extends the specialist work-related focus of the BTEC Level 3 Certificate and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the appropriate vocational sector. The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through the optional units. It is broadly equivalent to one GCE A Level.
