This course is a starting point for students who wish to pursue a career path in the sports and sports science industries, careers such as physiotherapy, elite sports support, coaching, teaching and journalism. Students will study applied anatomy and physiology alongside exercise physiology and applied movement analysis. Students will also learn about skill acquisition in sport, sports psychology and how it affects performance. The complex, interesting relationship between sport and society is also studied. Students are assessed practically in a sport of their choice and also complete a coursework study in Performance Analysis and a Performance Development Programme to aid their physical and sporting development.
