Film has been the major art form of the last one hundred years. A Level Film Studies introduces students to a diverse range of film forms and styles from across the globe. The course gives students the opportunity to explore film industries, productions, and meanings. Film Studies is a dynamic and interactive course designed to develop students’ analytical techniques, creativity and practical skills through the study of a wide variety of films and through the production of their own short films. Students will explore film texts through key concepts such as cinematography, editing, mise-en-scene and the film industry. Theoretical concepts focused on genres, audiences, directors and stars will be explored across the various film texts studied.
