English Skills for Work - Entry 1 (OCR)

Who is this course for? Manchester residents with low level literacy skills to function in everyday life, gain employment and/or enter vocational training/education. What will I learn on this course? You will improve your reading and writing. You will learn to write simple notes and messages, learn to write your address, learn some common and personal spellings you need for everyday life and work; read and understand simple forms, notes and messages, adverts (including adverts for jobs) etc. How will I learn? You will learn mostly with your group but you will have the opportunity for working in pairs and working on your own. You will attend one session per week. What could this course lead to? You can expect to gain confidence in your reading and writing skills to use them in everyday life/work and apply for jobs. You can progress to a higher level English class What qualifications will I gain? Entry 1 Functional Skills in English. What could this course lead to?
