GCE A Level in Sociology

Sociology is a subject which lends itself to healthy debate and discussion and students are encouraged to use their own life experiences as a starting point to understanding our own society and the effects of others upon us. You will study topics such as: Families and Households, Education and Sociological Methods, Beliefs in Society and Crime and Deviance. This course will take 2 years to complete. Lectures involve students actively participating in the learning process in order to gain understanding and insight into contemporary issues. The subject content has been arranged so that candidates must study a core of theory and methods plus a selection of substantive topics and may include areas such as: AS Subjects: Families and Households; Education and Sociological Methods; A2 Subjects: Beliefs in Society; Crime and Deviance and Theory and Methods.
