There are two papers in AS Computer Science. Paper 1, a practical examination, tests a student’s ability to program as well as their understanding of data structures. Paper 2 is a traditional written paper, covering data representation, fundamentals of computer organisation and architecture. Each paper is worth 75 marks and is worth 50% of the overall AS.
