AQA A Level Design and Technology: Product Design (3D)

Product Design is a qualification which allows students to show their creativity and imagination whilst producing prototype products which would be suitable for commercial manufacture. Students will learn various practical skills with support of CAD/CAM and will also develop understanding of various materials and processes. Pupils will also investigate into industry manufacture and consider changes that would need to be made to produce mass manufactured products. Students will become competent in working individually to finalise products to high standards.

Name: AQA A Level Design and Technology: Product Design (3D) Qualification title: GCE A Level in Design and Technology: Product Design (3-D Design) Qualification type: Assessment This qualification consists of two externally examined papers one sat in year 12 and one sat in year 13 around May/June time. Each paper is 2 hours in length involving both a designing question and written questions. Each year is worth 50% of the final A Level.
