The course encourages a wide view of Technology, enabling students to design and make products in a large range of materials. Product design is studied in the context of both the designer and manufacturer, taking into account the processes of marketing. The overall aim is to encourage independent learning, creativity and innovation, reflecting the broadening demands of business and industry.

Name: GCE A Level in Design and Technology Qualification title: GCE A Level in Design and Technology Qualification type: Assessment Advanced Level Coursework Project Supporting folder and practical product 30% Advanced processes written exam (2 hours 30 minutes) 20% Completion of the coursework project will be the primary objective during the first part of the course, at both A/S and A2 level. This will largely involve individual tuition and guidance. During the latter part of the course, all contact time and homework will be allocated for the detailed study necessary for examination preparation. It is anticipated that much of the examination content will also derive from work on the coursework project.
