You will work in a group performing extracts from various plays, the final one being examined. You can choose to be examined as a performer or in another skill, e.g. Design, Costumes, Lighting or Direction. You will also go to the theatre to see a range of productions to prepare you for examination. For A2 you will study two further set plays in detail, focussing on the perspective of the director. You will also create devised performance exploring a specific dramatic style for your performance examination. You can choose to be examined in a particular skill, as for AS. For both AS and A2 you will be assessed by sitting written examinations and by demonstrating your practical skills. During the year you will be expected to write full length essays in preparation for your examinations. You will be able to gain a good deal of marks which go towards your final grade simply by showing that you can prepare well for the practical elements.
