The course takes recent developments in Chemistry into account and aims to deepen students’ understanding and knowledge of all aspects of the subject. The study of Chemistry encourages an enquiring mind and aims to develop logical and critical thinking abilities. The areas studied cover Inorganic Chemistry (the study of elements) and Organic Chemistry (the study of carbon compounds - the molecules of living things). These are linked together by unifying concepts such as the Periodic Table, bonding and structure, reaction kinetics, and energy and equilibrium.
