This course requires students to be interested in language and its role in our society, as well as to enjoy writing for different audiences and different purposes. Texts studied will be from contemporary as well as historical contexts. It will be an excellent grounding for anyone considering an arts based university course or a career which requires a high level of communication skills and an understanding of how texts affect audiences.
