If you want to develop your interest and enjoyment in drama and theatre studies through your experience as part of an audience and through your own practice, then Drama and Theatre Studies is for you. You will have the chance to develop your practical drama skills and pursue your interest as well as respond critically and sensitively to texts and performances. Teaching and learning will be through the study of texts, live theatre and students' own dramatic productions developed during practical workshops. Selected students may also have the opportunity to develop their technical or design skills in place of performance, although evidence of an appropriate skill set will be required for this assessment route. This course offers opportunities for progression in higher education in Acting, Musical Theatre and Film Studies or in other subjects as an entry qualification. Drama & Theatre Studies offers subject content which is distinct from that of the others, serving as complementary to study in other arts subjects or as a contrasting discipline with study in other areas.
