AREA OF STUDY: Gaining an understanding of how media texts create meaning and convey this to audiences; Being able to understand the key concepts; the critical tools used for deconstructing texts; Attaining media literacy through the development of a high level of critical autonomy; To develop critical reading and communication in relation to the mass media. The understanding of these key areas is underpinned by both theoretical and practical applications. MS2 - Students will produce media products from a set number of briefs; these may include the construction of a campaign consisting of a TV advert and posters. Students will experience how to research and plan, as well as constructing their production and keeping an up to date evaluative blog. Both are worth 50% of the AS Level.
