A Level Sociology

UPDATED 20150922 15:24:25

A-Level Sociology is a fascinating way to understand the world around you and your place within it! As a student of Sociology, you will begin to develop a critical approach and will always ask questions based on the evidence presented to you. Sociology also allows you the opportunity to explore significant social theories such as Marxism, Feminism, Functionalism and Post-modernism and will use these ideas to debate the reality of the social world. Key Sociological questions that you will focus on in your studies include: Do you need two parents to properly raise a child? Should same-sex couples be allowed to adopt? How does immigration influence the family? Is there still a class divide in education? Do teachers label students in a negative way and how can this influence their progress at school?
