The AS module comprises two units: Unit 1 - Global Challenges: Topic 1: World at Risk, Topic 2: Going Global. Unit 2 - Geographical Investigations; Topic 1: Investigating Crowded Coasts, Topic 2: Rebranding Places (urban and rural regeneration). The A2 module comprises a further two units: Unit 3 - Contested Planet, including topics on: Energy Security, Water Conflicts, Biodiversity under threat, Superpower Geographies, Bridging the Development Gap and The Technological Fix. Unit 4 - Geographical Research: Tectonic Activity and Hazards. This has a strong geography focus but also examines the interaction of Tectonic activity with the human world.
