Music Advanced Subsidiary Level While some students will choose this course because they intend to study music at university or college, it is equally appealing to those who enjoy music and are looking for a subsidiary subject. It complements other areas very well. Students will develop performance skills, compose music and learn about harmony. They will build up their aural and analytical skills by studying set works and through wider listening. Careers Teaching, performing artist, music therapy, session musician, DJ, sound technician, promoter. SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS If GCSE Music has been studied, a grade C must have been achieved and students must be having instrumental or singing lessons. You should be willing to participate in all the extra-curricular activities the department has to offer. These include choirs, jazz band, orchestra, school musicals and smaller ensembles. Students who did not take GCSE Music must successfully pass an entry test.
