What will I be covering in the course in Year 12 (AS)? The work covered is a consolidation and extension of work studied for GCSE Mathematics at grade B and above. 2 core modules - C1 and C2 (algebra, geometry and calculus) 1 applied module - S1 (probability and statistical analysis) What will I be covering in the course in Year 13 (A2)? 2 core modules - C3 and C4 (trigonometry, algebra and calculus) 1 applied module - D1 (logic and optimisation problems) How will I be assessed? AS Level C1, C2 and S1 are external examinations in June. How will I be assessed? A2 Level C3, C4 and D1 are all external examinations in June. There is no coursework. What can I do with this subject? A Level mathematics is very highly regarded by universities and employers, and compliments studies in chemistry, biology, physics, geography, ICT, business and economics. Mathematicians can use their skill and knowledge in any career, and in particular medicine, sciences, accountancy, actuarial science, business, banking, computing, engineering, architecture, meteorology and teaching.
