Picture Framing

Do you have a favourite original painting, a print or photograph that you would like to frame? If so, this course will help you to learn how to mount and frame pictures or similar objects. You will also learn about alternative framing techniques. The course is highly practical in nature with full demonstrations by the course tutor. You don't need any previous experience and you will quickly pick up the skills you need to frame your artwork with confidence.

Entry requirements

No specific materials are required for the first class but you will subsequently need to bring with you some basic picture framing materials including mounting board, picture frame mouldings, glass and thin ply or hardboard; the tutor will advise you about purchasing these materials at the first session. If you would like to make picture frames at home, the tutor will advise you at the first session about the specialist tools you will need to purchase and the approximate cost. You should also bring with you a notebook and pen. As there is no storage space at the College you will need to take your work away with you after each session, so please bear in mind that it must be easy to transport.
