This course is suitable for anyone who has gained a level 2 NVQ or its equivalent in Hairdressing and is currently working within the industry or is looking to update their skills. This is an opportunity to develop your hairdressing skills to a higher level. This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in hairdressing at an advanced level, would like to manage a salon or become a lecturer at a later date.

Name: Hairdressing NVQ 3 Qualification title: NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will work towards level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing, a nationally recognised qualification. You will be assessed in the College salon and some assessments can take place in your workplace if you have a registered assessor. (This needs to be agreed and monitored by the college). The assessor will need to prove they have the qualifications to assess. You are assessed through a variety of methods of practical, oral and written work. In addition to time spent in class it is recommended that you spend extra time at home and in your salon to practice your skills and recap your knowledge. Entry requirements

You will need to provide work wear and full hairdressing equipment and an A4 folder. If you do not possess an Aspire Salon uniform you will need to purchase one at a cost of approximately £70. Equipment must be ordered at the first session of your course. You will also need a Level 3 text book. Forms will be provided on request. Additional expenses may be incurred through competition work and educational activities The College Aspire Hair and Beauty salons are set up as a realistic working environment and you will be working on paying clients, however you may need to find paying models for some specific assessments.
