If you are interested in working with children, adults and vulnerable people, knowing about creative and leisure activities for them, and learning about health needs and care plans, this is the course for you.On this one year course you will learn about the care needs of a wide range of people of all ages and from all backgrounds. You will gain the knowledge and skills you will need when providing care for children or adults as well as the theory so that you have underpinning knowledge should you choose to study further.You will be able to take additional qualifications, such as Functional Skills English and Maths, which will improve your prospects of further study and employment. You may also have the opportunity to attend a work experience placement to put your new skills into practice.

Entry requirements

An annual fee of £50.00 to cover excursions and activities.On your supervised placement you are required to wear a t-shirt which clearly identifies you as a Wiltshire College student. This is a way of protecting you from people who may unknowingly ask you to respond to emergencies beyond the level of your training. The cost of this will be approximately £10.
