English Literature builds on the skills developed during GCSE study, exploring a range of literary texts including plays, prose and poetry. The course will cover writing from a range of time periods and across a range of genres, allowing students to use critical reading skills to make precise references and comparisons when exploring language, structure, characterisation, setting and themes. The course helps students develop opinions on a range of issues whilst sharing a passion for reading with other like-minded students.
