UPDATED 20161007 13:13:48

Cambridge Pre-U GPR (Global Perspectives) aims to equip you with the critical and analytical skills needed to allow you to make a successful transition to study at university and to broaden your understanding of the world; To prepare you for engagement in a rapidly changing intellectual climate by promoting a critical, questioning approach to information that is often taken for granted, by developing and promoting disciplined and scholarly research methods and cultivating an interdisciplinary perspective. To encourage you to engage constructively with issues and ideas of global significance by developing an understanding of some of the key global problems and opportunities that will face you as an adult, wherever you live and work. To foster an awareness and understanding of, and respect for, the diversity of perspectives on particular global issues and to encourage you to develop an independent outlook and self-reflection through scrutiny of a priori assumptions. GPR serves as a basis from which you may subsequently embark with confidence in your second year on an Independent Research Report, a piece of original research providing evidence of genuine intellectual stretch, challenge and progression
